Spanish Day 2024

This year’s Spanish Celebration Day was a fantastic success.
On this special day, Key Stage 1 pupils delved into the culture of Spain, looking at flags of Spanish speaking countries, listening to music and learning the Spanish numbers.
Meanwhile, the Kestrels and Hawks explored Spanish culture through art, focusing on the works of renowned artists such as Joan Miró and Pablo Picasso. They even created art in their own distinctive styles. In addition, the Doves and Owls practised their language skills by learning greetings, the alphabet and how to express emotions. The Falcons learnt how to say certain sports in Spanish and the Eagles looked at Spanish football teams.
All classes enjoyed tasting Spanish tapas.
At the end of the day the teachers performed a flamenco dance!
It was an exciting and educational day that allowed the children to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Spain, and other Spanish-speaking countries, and expand their language and artistic skills.
¡Fue un día fabuloso! (It was a fabulous day!)
